Greg and I got free pedometers from work a couple of weeks ago. The goal is to get about 10,000 steps a day, but I never get there unless I go to the gym. On a normal day, I probably get about 5,000. But that doesn't count triplet lifts. :) Once it cools off, I am going to try to walk at lunch time. Dripping with sweat at work is not cool. The girls are curious about them, but whenever I try to clip it on Julie, she pulls it off. She could up my step count pretty quick.
My parents are here visiting with us now. They got here early on Saturday morning, and my mom got to experience Costco with Emma, Julie, and Greg while I took Becca to swimming lessons.
When Greg gave Becca a bath last week, he said she was sitting there and bent over and put her face in the water a couple of times. She's never ever done that before, so I think the swimming lessons played a big part in that. We got there a few minutes early again this week, and we walked out by the pool. Becca started pointing and I couldn't tell what she was pointing at - there were lots of pool noodles and stuff around. Then she started crying because I wasn't getting it - she wanted to get in the pool. She was a little more relaxed this time, though definitely still more interested in people watching than in learning to kick or paddle. She got to wear a floatie thing this week, too, which gave her a little more freedom. It keeps her at about mouth level, and doesn't do anything to keep her upright. Speaking of mouth level, she did a lot of swimming with her mouth wide open. Mmmmmm, pool water.
We went out to Red Robin for dinner on Saturday and it definitely went more smoothly than last time. We got there earlier and didn't have to wait for a table, which makes a huge difference for us these days. All of the girls were more interested in people watching than eating, which was pretty normal. The also all colored a bit when we first got there. And they all tried eating the crayons. (Julie took a big bite off of one of the bath crayons last week, too.)
Greg and I got to go out to lunch alone on Sunday, and did the grocery shopping without two carts.
Mostly, though, with two extra sets of hands, Greg and I have had a chance to clean up and organize a ton of stuff. We've just been living with the piles of clutter for too long. I went threw and trashed 3/4 of the stuff in the medicine cabinet because it had expired. I've got a lot more I want to do, but right now it just feels good to be finally making progress. Greg has made a few runs to Goodwill lately, too, and it's freeing to have the stuff out of the house.
We did acquire some more stuff recently, though. I bought 2 wagons from a friend so that we can start taking the girls apple picking in a few weeks. I. cannot. wait. for. fall.
Not a lot of pictures lately. I've been feeling blah, and the light has been bad. And I start to lose track of the day to day. I'll try to find some random ones soon.
