Burlington and Lake Champlain

Tuesday started out cloudy again, but the sun finally came out in the afternoon, and it was a gorgeous fall day. Greg and I took my parents into downtown Burlington.

We stopped at the boathouse for some photos.

Then, after Greg sucessfully navigated my parents' manual transmission car from a parking spot on the steepest hill in Burlington, we rewarded him with some ice cream. (He looks relieved, doesn't he?)

This picture was from lunch, which we actually did have before the ice cream this time, but it makes a better story the other way. As my dad says, this is "one of my looks."

We walked around Church St. for a bit, mostly just enjoying a beautiful day.

We had to stop at the airport on the way home (which we actually completely missed the entrance to, because it's so small, and kind of just off a side street right alongside a neighborhood) to pick up a rental car for Greg and I to drive to Boston on Wednesday. We got back home, and then decided to go for a walk down to the lake, about a mile from the house. So pretty, and it really wasn't cold at all.

In the one below, from the left is my dad, Greg's dad, Greg, and me.

My dad took this one on the way back to the house.

Another wonderful family dinner, and my mom's apple pie for dessert.
Going back to work is for the birds!

That last picture is a layout waiting to happen - stunning with you and Greg holding hands and the light coming in through the trees...sigh

Mmmm...apple pie!

Happy belated birthday, Greg!
