We have started trying to occasionally let the girls try to use spoons at dinner. They are pretty interested and very proud of themselves when the get food in their mouths. We're still at the stage where Greg and I put food on the spoons and the girls work on getting the spoon to their mouths (with food still on it) themselves. Becca is doing really well with it. My guess is that we'll have to start actually putting their food in bowls to help them get the food on the spoons themselves.
All of the girls get excited when they hear "eating shirts" (for those particularly messy meals) and start trying to take their shirts off themselves. Just recently they have also started trying to take their shorts off, too. Emma tries to pull up her pants sometimes, too, after diaper changes. On Wednesday (chicken parmesean), Becca decided that eating clothes didn't include a diaper.
Emma has started trying to get in her carseat herself. When she's sitting in the back row, she can get up on the bench and then climb into the seat. She just seems to have blossomed into a little person lately. She understands a lot and ... I don't know how else to describe it ... She just seems to be figuring out her world. The other day I picked her up and she had a handful (ok, 2 handfuls) of Cheerios and she dropped one on my shoulder. I said, "Emma, there's a Cheerio on my shoulder," and she immediately looked at it and grabbed it. When did she learn the word "shoulder"?
Julie has been having a hard time at daycare drop offs lately. Lots of tears. She's also been clingy in the morning ... Probably all linked. She's a slow waker-upper lately, too. On the weekends, she likes to sit on my lap and snuggle for a little while before she's ready to play.
Emma is saying "daddy" and occasionally "mommy" now.

The spoon thing made me laugh. Forks are great here...spoons are a bit dicey. ;)
