The Museum

We have a children's museum in town, but a Living Social offer popped up recently for one that's about 90 minutes away.  Essentially, we got a year long membership for what it would cost us to go to our local one once.  Awesome.  So, we went for the first time last weekend.

Julie driving a VW Beetle.  I'm not sure what the educational value of this was, but they loved getting in the car.  Emma eventually climbed into the back seat.

This was probably their favorite exhibit.  It was about peach picking - - the peaches were the little orange balls that came out of the trees.  There was a big vat of balls that was propelled by just a little bit of air pressure so that every time you took a "peach" off the "tree," a new "peach" popped up.  The loved it!

Laying bricks and mortar.

Driving a little skid steer and knocking over bricks.  Emma was not happy about having to ride (as opposed to turning the hand cranks), but there was a line.

They had an exhibit about story books.  The girls are peering into holes underneath the chocolate chips in the cookie to see a few of the mouse's favorite things.

This was a really cool "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" exhibit.  It's a coconut tree with a continuously moving ladder of letters.  The intent was to match the wood cards (capital letters) with the lowercase letters on the ladder.  We're still not up for matching uppercase and lowercase, but they loved the ladder and the control buttons to start and stop it.

Ok, maybe the peaches were their second favorite exhibit.  I think this had to be their #1.  It's basically a hopscotch piano.  Running, jumping, squealing.  

 We didn't make it all the way through before we were getting tired, so I think the membership will turn out to be a good investment.
