A Conscious Effort to Have More Fun

I decided that we need to have more fun. All of the wear and tear from the work-school-housework tornado have been dragging me (us?) down lately.

So we're going to start having more fun.

As a first step, on Saturday, we went up to a new winery that I saw advertised in the local paper called Victoria Valley Vineyards. It's up in the mountains between South and North Carolina. The scenery is great -- it'd be great to go back in the fall and just sit outside sipping a glass of wine. Except the wine wasn't really anything either of us were crazy about. We tasted a bunch, but nothing really struck us as something we'd buy. But no harm done -- we had fun.

After the winery, we drove back into downtown Greenville, and had a senior citizens dinner (it was 5:30) at one of my favorite places, Brick Street Cafe. There's a half eaten piece of sweet potato cake down in the fridge that I have a hard time resisting. The nice thing about eating so early was that, afterward, we went for a walk down to the park and it was still light out.
