Hopefully this is not the start of the big Pink Eye Plague of '11.
Emma had increasing, um, goopiness all day on Sunday. By Sunday night it was looking a bit swollen and we pretty much knew she had pink eye. I took her in to the doctor on Monday morning, and apparently it's a little more serious than just pink eye, because, in the doctor's words, she's got redness and swelling in the soft tissue around her eye.
Cue guilt.
She's on antibiotics now. The goopiness was gone on Monday morning - just the bad swelling. Hoping that the antibiotics take care of it.
We had a pretty good day at home. We read some stories in the morning before the doctor. She was whispering and very quiet - I don't know if she thought her sisters were still asleep, or if she was just out of her element without her sisters around. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with her. We really don't get to do that enough.
She was totally submissive at the doctor again - it's so weird to see her like that. It was the same doctor that we saw when she busted up her finger last month. Maybe she likes him. But she let him look in her ears without even a whimper.
Or maybe it's the lollipop and sticker at the end.
It took us a little while to get checked out, and she was finishing up that lollipop as we were pulling out of the parking lot.
She took a good nap and allowed me to get done the work I really needed to get done today, and when she woke up, she was content to sit next to me on the couch and get a little more work done.
Not bad for a sick day.
