Took these yesterday afternoon. Some of the tulips are opening, as are the rest of the irises. Of course it seems like we planted more tulips than have actually appeared.
The tulip magnolia bush finally had 2 flowers on it. All of the others around bloomed about 2 weeks ago. Not sure why everything in our yard is about 2 weeks behind everyone else. I was worried that the bush wasn't going to make it. Greg's been raking away some leaves out back to put down the fire ant killer, and discovered that the peonies hadn't in fact died -- they are growing back! Hooray! That means that everything we planted back there last year made it. (Except the azalea that lost to the weedwacker. Sorry, did I just mention that again?) That's a new record for us.The hydrangea really seem to grow well here ... so excited to see those soon. Their leaves are sprouting and we should have flowers by the end of the month, I think.
In the mean time, there's a freeze warning again tonight, and there was some snow up in the mountains tonight.
