Emma
Emma was very clingy during visit. She would do activities while sitting only in EI's lap. Emma worked a long time on the new shape box. She would place them without help or prompting. She even tried to take the box apart. Would say "ta ta" for thank you, but she was kind of mellow today.
Julie
Julie was helping "close" the trash can and saying "ta ta." Bugs - puzzle and bed bugs game. She would imitate EI "flying" the bug pieces in the air but did not make bzzzz sounds. She would listen to the finger play and anticipate the bee tickles! Game - she would give EI the hammer to "pop" on the head. She would say "pop."
Rebecca
When EI arrived, she was eating snack and dropped her cup and raised her hands to EI to be first. First Words Book - she was very interested in the page with the food and eating. She would babble and EI encouraged naming - cup, banana, bib, spoon. Pop beads - she would work intently to put them together and was pleased and proud when she got a few! EI encouraged "pretty" when wearing necklace!
Our homework for the week is to do the finger play "The Beehive."
So, I think I finally deduced that a finger play is a play that you put on with your fingers, like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. She gave us a print out for this new one.
