Chopsticks

One night last week, we went out to dinner instead of cooking.  We recently tried a Mongolian grill place, and it went over pretty well with the girls.  We had to come up with a name for it, and since the food is served in red bowls, it is now the "red bowl house."  (EVERYTHING is a "house.")

Anyhow, my dad is a chopstick pro, and of course when the girls saw them, they had to have chopsticks. (My poor mom made the mistake of only getting one set the first time she got up.)  They were real chopsticks, not the hinged kind they'd been moderately successful with before.

Trying to get a lesson from papa.

Becca managed to get food in her mouth her own way.

I like to think of this series as "the hardest-won bite of dinner."

I don't remember if she finally got it in her mouth, or if grandpa just started feeding her.  They were so determined.

The girls are really getting better about eating fruits and vegetables, and I like that they can pick out their own here.  Turns out, Emma loves baby corn and fish, and Becca likes bamboo shoots.
