Welcome, 2011

Instead of staying up late, the girls decided to usher in the New Year by waking up early. 4am style. What can I say? We live like rock stars.

The girls went to daycare most of the week so we could get some stuff done around the house. We have definitely made some progress, but you know how sometimes, to clean up a mess, you have to make an even bigger mess? There's some of that going on, too. But we did get the Christmas decorations down and the tree out to the curb.

We've mostly just been hanging around the house playing with our new toys this week.





We like to call this one "Sweet Victory," because Becca *finally* got the spatula away from Emma.

On Thursday, we made it out to see the crazy Christmas Light house again. There were definitely fewer people there. But it still took about half way through before the girls warmed up to the whole situation again. But once they did, they had a blast.






Their favorite part this time seemed to be walking back and forth on this ~5 ft path that leads to the pool. There are lights in the pool, on the back deck, etc, so they'd run up to the gate, look at the lights, and run back. Repeat.






They also have lights coordinated with music. Julie was getting down.

And yes, that was someone at the end of the video saying that they look like part of the display.

On Friday morning, Greg took the girls out into the back yard to play in the leaves. They went straight for the swings. Then, the sandbox toys.





Yes, Julie's hat is too small.


We love wearing mom and dad's hats.


She looks like a thug, counting her money, I mean crayons.
